Women of Will: Women of Will Entrepreneurship Development (WOWED) Training
WOW is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that aims to transform the lives of less-fortunate women in Malaysia and their communities. These women are single mothers, widows, abandoned or abused women and women with incapacitated husbands living in poverty.
Women of Will (WOW) organised their yearly Women of Will Entrepreneurship Development (WOWED) Training to prepare the next batch of WOW’s selected women beneficiaries prior to loan disbursement by the organisation.
This mandatory training took place on the 29th of September 2019 at the PJ Campus of Brickfields Asia College. There were 50 women beneficiaries from the B40 category. The theme for this year’s WOWED Training was Entrepreneurship. The women beneficiaries were then coached and led by one of WOW’s internal trainer on how to ‘think outside the box’ especially when dealing with financial crisis. Thus, basic lessons on financial literacy & management, marketing, teamwork and business coaching were offered to them.
WOW’s internal trainer mentioned that the objective of having the training was to empower and motivate these women beneficiaries who lived in poverty (B40 Community) by not relying on handouts but to further develop and expand their current businesses.
The venue for the training was provided by The Make It Right Movement (MIRM).
