Brian Lariche, Head of Community Development at BAC’s Make it Right Movement (MIRM), spoke at a forum organised by Justice for Sisters at the Art for Grabs art bazaar on Sunday, 20th of August 2017, at The Boulevard @ Publika, KL. The forum, themed “Sekolah Kemangsaan Malaysia: Are our schools breeding bullies?”, discussed the issue of bullying in schools, with a focus on students who identify with the LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and questioning) community. The interactive forum, which was streamed live on Astro Awani, was attended by over 100 members of the public, who listened attentively to the discussion and participated in the Q&A session. Brian was also interviewed by Astro Awani following the forum. MIRM supported the event by identifying panellists and assisting in developing the forum’s strategy. Justice for Sisters is a grassroots campaign by the public to raise awareness on issues surrounding violence and persecution against the transgender community in Malaysia.
